Made with organic corn masa, tomatillos and black beans. Certified vegan. Vegan.org. Dairy free. Gluten free. Family owned since 1987. No genetically engineered ingredients - GMOs. When Amy's family first discovered the Tamale Verde at their favorite restaurant in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, they couldn't believe how good it tasted, and kept ordering it over and over again. Amy's dad hoped that we could re-create the recipe for this wonderful authentic Mexican dish and offer it to Amy's customers. That was easier said than done. It took three years to perfect - to grow organic tomatillos (which are the heart of salsa verde) and to make the salsa so that it was just right. All ingredients are carefully selected and prepared. The organic (ground and cooked corn) is poured onto individual parchments, filled with tender organic black beans and a mixture of vegetables, chiles and jalapenos, and then folded and steamed. Directions Perishable. Keep frozen. Microwave or regular oven. Ovens may vary. Microwave: Make a 1-inch slit in overwrap. Cook on high for 5 minutes. Let sit 1 minute. Serve. Conventional Oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Remove overwrap. Cover tray with foil and place on baking sheet. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Let sit 1 minute. Serve. Toaster Oven: Remove overwrap and tray. Place in toaster oven-safe dish. Follow conventional oven instructions.
